Hello all,

Oh my Gosh, NAMTA Creativation was wonderful. I am so happy that I was able to be in attendance this year. One of the coolest new products that was featured at this year’s show was artesprix’s Sublimation Acrylic Paints and new colors of Stamp pads! I was already in love with the artesprix Sumblimation markers and the black stamp pad that has been on the market, these new products just expanded the creative options for sublimation to a whole new level! Below is a trio of sublimation goodness featuring the Sublimation Acrylic Paints. Be sure to also check out the Quick Tips Mixed Media Video below for the step by steps!

Shabby Chic framed Dragonfly – Inspired by…

This project idea was inspired by a Youtube video by Caroline, “My Home of the Hillside”. In her video, Caroline created 3 Shabby Chic projects featuring Rosette Roses hand-made from strips of scrap fabric. Well, I just had to try making these beautiful trash to treasure roses! And with that, came my Shabby Chic framed Dragonfly project. This creation features an upcycled old frame and other reuse and repurposed materials.

Be sure to watch Caroline’s video on how to make these Rosette Roses as well as my Quick Tips Mixed Media video below for the step by steps on my project.

Dew Drop Shamrock

Hello all,

Back again with another project using Dew Drops by The Robin’s Nest Creative. For this project, I am adding on to my last blog (Heart Ornament with Easel, featuring Dew Drops) by creating another Dew Drop Ornament. In that project I created an easel to hang seasonal ornaments from. So, being that it is nearly St. Patrick’s Day, I thought I would create a little Shamrock of Dew Drops to hang on my easel (check instagram for photo on the Easel mentioned above).

Be sure to scope out the Mixed Media Quick Tips Video below for the step by steps.

Be You: Art Journal Cover

Hello all,

Back again with a new Sublimation Ink project. I have had a Prima Marketing Inc. Mixed Media Journal cover left over from another project (that I completed quite some time ago) and I thought I would see how this product took to sublimation. Unfortunately, it does not look like Prima Marketing still carries these covers. However, I found something similar on Amazon: Prima Marketing Resist Canvas Mixed Media Album Covers. I’m sad that these covers are no longer available because they worked great as a substrate for sublimation ink.

This project also features my “Be You” stamp line that is being produced and distributed by Emerald Creek Craft Supplies.

For step by steps, please check out the Quick Tips Mixed Media Video below.

A day of reflection.

Being the last day of 2021, I find myself reflecting back on the year. The good, the bad, the what the heck happened to another year! It’s been a tough few years on all of us, for sure.

Did I accomplish what I wanted to in 2021? Well, no and I really only have myself to blame. It is so easy to let the unavoidable events in life throw us off course. It’s an expected reality. I think that the trick to being successful is not letting those events derail us for too long. That is what I intend to improve on this next year.

My 2022 goal is to address life’s challenges with a bit more grace. I am going to deal with problems quickly to allow myself to stay on track. That’s it, that is my only solid goal for 2022. Life is to unpredictable. Yes, I have a good plan on what I what to accomplish. But, I am going to be flexible on how I get there.

Happy New Year, everyone! May your 2022 be filling with hope, health and happiness!

Happy day!
