How to make a textured, rustic sign with TCW Stencils

Hello all,

I am over on the The Crafter’s Workshop Blog today with a Home Decor piece featuring the “Coffee Bar” Home Decor stencil.  Lately, I have been inspired by photos of rusty old cars, trucks, and metal pieces.  All of the lovely layers of paint, rust and texture on these old, decrepit items are so cool!  The Coffee Bar sign below is my interpretation of this beautiful rustic color and texture.

A Pumpkin of a Different Color

Hello all,

I am starting to come around to the fact that summer is fading and I must face the coming of fall and soon to be winter.  I always mourn the loss of our sunshine filled days and pleasant summer heat each year.   So, time to pull out the warm sweaters and sweat shirts, long pants and warm socks…’tis the season.

The one thing that I do appreciate about the fall  is the color; the many shades of yellow and orange that splash across the trees are just lovely to see.  The fall project below however,  was made using a non-traditional color scheme.  While browsing the craft store this morning I found fall florals in these beautiful shades of blue and green.  These colors, paired with a white pumpkin, made for an interesting take on a fall project.

Check out the video below for how to you can use your stencils on really bumpy substrates like this pumpkin.

Check out the Video below:

I hope that you have enjoyed this project and will try this “stencil on tissue” method that will stretch the use of your favorite stencils.

Bring on the fall…

Happy day!

Life’s a Mystery; The Crafter’s Workshop

Hello all,

I am exited to be sharing my first project with you all as part of The Crafter’s Workshop Design Team.  For this first post,  I have created a Mixed Media project with Acrylic Paint and stenciling on a 8″ x 8″ flat panel canvas.

The Mystical Tree stencil is so pretty and I thought it would fit well with a misty and moody background.  At least, that is what I was going for!  lol

Mixed Media Squared

Hello all,

Sharing my Sunday project with you today.  I had a nice relaxing day playing with paints, modeling paste, dew drops and a few reused items for embellishments.  I started out having my favorite latte in the morning, crafting throughout the day and then dinner with my wonderful brother.  And to top off the day, a delightful face-timing session with my grandson this evening (where I had several air-blown kisses sent my way).

For the project below, I took some pictures and made a quick little video for you to watch.

Hope you all have a great week!

Happy day!
