Hello all,
Today I am sharing a Mixed Media Painting that I completed on an 11″ x 14″ x .5″ canvas. I was inspired by a piece (Spare Parts #2) done by Betty Franks Krause that I had seen on Pinterest. I really love the colors, texture and layout of Betty’s piece and thought I would use this as inspiration, while putting my own spin on it.
I am not sure if it holds up to Betty’s original piece however, I am pleased with how it turned out. For the circles, I used large wooden beads that I recycled from a piece of junk jewelry. I also added texture by applying texture paste over drywall tape as well as a base of modeling paste randomly spread across the canvas. And, of course, I had to add a few stamped images (script stamp and crackle background stamp) to create additional interest.
So, a big thank you to Betty Franks Krause for the inspiration today. I hope that one day my art can be an inspiration to others as well.
