Hello all,
As I was strolling through my local Michaels Craft Store, I found a wooden standing plaque and thought…I can do something with that! If fact, I instantly thought about the vintage fuses that I have had stashed away for a few months now (just waiting for the right Steampunk project).
And…with any good Steampunk project, you should have a story to go behind it. So, this little piece of work is my little Steampunk Music Maker, powered by fuses and happy thoughts. Ok, so I may not be the greatest at the story telling side of Steampunk but I sure hope you will enjoy this project anyways.
Key Features:
- Standing wooden framed painted with Acrylic paint and Crackled with an application of One Step Crackle.
- Acrylic sprays used to color and stain the project.
- Gears, bits and bobbles focused around a metal vintage measuring spoon.
- Vintage fuses
- Brick textured background over vintage sheet music.
I loved using these vintage fuses and am going to have to go hunting at the antique mall for some more! Don’t they add such a vintage machinery feel to this project? Love it
And you know my other love of mixed media and steampunk is all of the gears, bits and pieces that come together to create something fascinating! Finding the right pieces and fitting them together is truly one of my favorite step in the process.
I kind of envision this little contraption as something like an magical music box. Is it a Relic from the Past or the Future? I will leave that decision up to you!
