ITAC Challenge – 4

The ITAC theme for Challenge 4 was Africa.

So, I did a little internet browsing and found some really great information and images.  The one that really caught my eye was the Ndebele Dolls (see photo below).

It was great to learn about the Ndebele language and culture.  It was endearing to learn that, in many African cultures, dolls are passed down from generation to generation. How lovely a tradition!  For my piece, I took a little worry doll that I had on hand and modified it to represent a Ndebele doll.  It was a really fun process and I think it looks great on this project.
