Hello all,
Thought I would share my latest altered art project. I found a cheapo frame at the 2nd hand store that was missing it’s feet and looking pretty worn out. Before I could start painting, I had to fix the missing feet issue. So, I adhered little wooden dowel end caps to the bottom of the frame. This fix worked very nicely!
The entire frame was then painted with black gesso and allowed to dry. To give just a touch of color to the floral element at the top of the frame, I applied oil pastels with my fingers. I then applied the first coat of Soft Gloss Gel, allowed it to dry and repeated these steps again (from oil pastels to coat of Gloss Gel). To finish it up, I applied gold stencil paste here and there until I was satisfied with the look of it and applied one last layer of Soft Gloss Gel to seal it all up.
It is pretty amazing what a little paint and shine can do to breath life back into the old!

Can’t wait to find another piece to turn from trash to treasure! After I make my next journal page, of course!
Happy Day!
