Father’s day 2016

Had to repost this page of my Dad in honor of Father’s day.  He was the greatest dad ever; generous, kind and funny.  He will always be very close to my heart!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there.

4th of July; Re-Purposed

You know when you have left over kits from Holidays gone by that you just don’t know what to do with?  Well, I had a great Christmas card kit from Paper Pumpkin (November Noel) laying around that I decided to re-purpose for 4th of July.   I found a fun American Flag stamp and saying from The Angel Company and used it (along with some blue card stock) to cover the NOEL image that was pre-printed on the cream colored card stock found in the kit. The flag stamped image was colored with Derwent Inktense 24 water colored pencils.  From there I pretty much stuck with the kit’s design.  I think these re-purposed kit cards turned out pretty cute, the red striped card background fit right in to the patriotic 4th of July theme.

This has got me thinking…what other kits and supplies can I re-purpose for a different season?

Card Materials:
Paper Pumpkin Noel Monthly Kit
Blue Card Stock
American Flag/Saying; The Angel Company
Ranger Cocoa Dye Ink
Ranger Archival Ink; Jet Black
QuickKutz Cookie Cutter; Nesting Squares
Derwent Inktense 24

You Shine, Flower Trio

To start with, I must thank the Stampers’ Sampler Take Ten Summer 2016 Challenge for the inspiration and cute template for this card.  I had this challenge in mind when I started this card however, it definelty took me longer than 10 minutes to make so, rather than a challenge submission…to my blog it goes.

What new product has me excited you ask?  It is the Derwent Inktense 24 Ink Pencils that I used to color these wonderful flowers images from the Teresa Collins, Moments collection by Fiskars. The  Ink Pencils differ from other water color pencils in that they provide you the option of light, delicate color to rich, layered color.  Great versatility!   Lots of other products used on this cards as well, see materials list below.

Materials used:
Card Stock: Light Pink, White and Tangerine
Stamps: Fiskars, Teresa Collins Moments; Recollections Stamp and Stencil set
Dies: Spellbinders MD1-002

Derwent “Intense 24” Ink Pencils

I have always loved owls so making this card with this cute owl was a treat.  The background was made by layering Distress ink, stamped images, and glitter.  I then added string and sequence to fancy  it up a bit.  The owl was colored with watercolor pencils and then covered with diamond glaze.  Happy Stamping!  L
